Growing Pains

The Wedding was over, and the newlyweds were finally home. All in all, it had been a lovely wedding. The newlyweds couldn't wait to get started on making their own family.

"It's strange, I still feel like we should worry about your parents catching us." Ben said with a chuckle.

Blythe smiled, "We never did anything bad, we just messed around. Besides, we're married now. They can't possibly oppose."

"I know, it'll just take some getting used to. Hey, you think we could still mess around in the Observatory from time to time?" Ben said hopefully.

"Sure." Blythe said amused.

Anne, unaware the Blythe and Ben were already starting their wedding night, went into their bedroom with the intention of making sure it was all tidy for the newlyweds. It wasn't until it was too late that she shockingly realized, they were already there, in full swing and everything!

Anne almost screamed out of shock, but she managed to keep quiet. Of all the rotten timings! Why did I have to come in at the worst possible time?! She thought mortified as she tried to tip-toe out of the room before they realized she was there. There's no possible way to unsee that!

Later, and completely unaware that his new Mother-in-Law had walked in on them, Ben had decided it was time for him to get a job. His brother Malcolm, had decided to keep all of the family funds to himself. Ben didn't mind so much, Malcolm was the eldest in any case. Ben would provide for his own family just fine, so he decided to get a writing job.

Later that evening, Blythe had just finished cleaning the downstairs toilet when she felt rather ill. Ok, so I know that toilet was rather foul but...I'm not really going to vomit, am I? She thought to herself with a frown. Oh...yup, going to throw up! Blythe knew it was time to take a pregnancy test.

Blythe was happy to find out she was pregnant, and all on her wedding night! She went to the kitchen to get a drink and found Ben there already having a snack.

"Are you ok?" Ben asked as he looked at Blythe.

"Oh, I'm alright. Perfectly alright, in fact." Blythe said with a smile. "I'm pregnant!"

"Really?! That's great!" Ben said excitedly.

"It is, isn't it? I've got to say, I'm not so fond of throwing up though." Blythe said with a sigh.

Ben blinked, "Throwing up? Oh, right...pregnancy stuff. You'll be ok though, right?" Ben said worried.

"I'll be fine sweetie, don't worry." Blythe said with a smile.

"Congratulations sweetheart." Anne told her daughter happily. "You'll both make wonderful parents."

Blythe smiled, "Thanks mom."

"We'll make sure to help around the house as much as possible so you don't have to worry about any of that." Anne said reassuringly.

"I'm sure I can handle it mom, but thank you." Blythe said with a chuckle.

The following morning, the Montgomery Family was enjoying a nice breakfast together, except for Alex who had been up all night painting and was sleeping in.

"So your father and I have decided it's time to move to a bigger house. Or at least, a house that can support well...three generations of Montgomeries." Anne said smiling.

"Move? But why? We're fine here." Blythe said surprised.

"Sweetie, our family is growing. And while we do have an empty bedroom right now, eventually we'll need more room. What if you two have more than one child?" Anne said reasonably. "Both of you want a family, and multiple children."

Ben nodded in agreement, "At least two." He said grinning.

"Besides, the way this house is set up, it already is getting a bit crowded. We could use a bit more space, and a more child friendly neighborhood perhaps?" Anne said looking at her daughter.

"Well, that's a reasonable argument, I suppose. Alright." Blythe said with a shrug.

"Good, that's settled then." Anne said happily. She would miss this house, but the family really did need room to grow.

"Good grief, I'm only on my first trimester, why am I so big?" Blythe said to herself then turned to look at her mother. "Hey mom, were you this big on your first trimester?"

Anne shrugged distractedly, "Uh..I think so. I don't know, you seem a bit big but I was pregnant with you a while ago. I don't remember exactly how big I was dear. Why?" she said as she focused on her research.

Blythe sighed, "Oh nothing, I just feel like I'm bigger than I should be..." she said and shrugged.

"By the way dear, we'll be moving tomorrow. Your father has found a house." Anne said with a smile.

"Already? Wow." Blythe said surprised.

And sure enough, Alex had found them a new home. This one was in a different neighborhood. It was a lovely 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house that had an actual dining room, unlike their previous house. And right next to their new house, was a lovely children's playground.

The family happily settled into their new home without incident which was good since Blythe was by then in her second trimester and constantly tired.

Soon enough however, Blythe had entered her 3rd and final trimester, and even though she still felt she was bigger than usual she was at least glad she wasn't suffering from morning sickness they way she had heard her mother had. Blythe spent much of her free time practicing her programming skills and making plugins when she wasn't at work.

Then, when she least expected it, Blythe had gone into labor at last. In the middle of the night while at it. She was the only one awake. Not wanting to wake up her husband, whom had been working later hours and was tired, she decided to tell him after the baby was born.

Mostly, it had taken all her energy just to walk up the stairs while in pain, she didn't think she had it in her to go get her husband, and she didn't want to wake up her parents by calling out for him.

"It's just you and I little one." Blythe said to her belly.

To her shocking surprised, she delivered not one, but two little baby boys! "Twins! Wow! No wonder I was so huge!" She said with a chuckle.

"Let's see, you my little firstborn, will be called Camren." She said to her newborn baby boy and kissed him gently on the cheek.

"And you, my precious little one, will be called Cole." She said to her second-born baby boy as she kissed his cheek as well. "Now if you're both excuse me, I'm one extremely tired mommy. I'm going to go take a little nap, alright?"

Two hours later, when Ben woke up and turned to cuddle with Blythe he realized her very pregnant belly was gone. He was confused at first, but then he realized she must've had the baby at some point during the night, and he'd missed it all! He was in a state of panic. How could have slept through is wife giving birth to their baby?!

Ben hurriedly went over to meet his new baby and was shocked to discover there were two babies! "Wow...two little boys? And Blythe did it all alone...isn't that just like her." Ben said as he looked down at the babies and noticed their names 'Camren' and 'Cole' on each bassinet.

"Well hello there boys. Camren and Cole. Hmm, good names." Ben said as he picked up Camren first and then Cole. "We got two babies in one go! That's awesome! We wanted more than one child, but we weren't expecting that to happen with one pregnancy. Wait 'till the new grandparents find out!"
